How to Lend a Kindle Book: A Step-by-Step Guide
There are advantages and disadvantages to lending Kindle books to anyone with an Amazon account and an email address associated with it. There is an even better way to share your Kindle books called Family Library, which is a step-by-step guide.
Sharing Kindle Books: The Pros
You can send shareable Kindle books to anyone via email, and they have seven days to download and 14 days to read them before they are returned to you. Unlike physical books, you don’t have to meet up with your friend in person to loan a Kindle book.

How to Lend a Kindle Book
There are two ways to share Kindle books. Click “Loan this title” and then enter the information for the person you’re lending the book to. Enter the email address and click “Send now.” An email with a link to download the book will be sent to the recipient.
How to Return a Loaned Kindle Book
If you borrow a book from a friend, it will be automatically returned to them after 14 days; however, if you want to return the book sooner, you can delete it from your Kindle library. Locate the borrowed book and click the three-dot button to the left of the title.
You can choose to share all of your Kindle books to your Family Library or select titles individually, and there are no restrictions on what books you can share or how long you can lend them.

Go to Manage Your Content and Devices, find the book you want to share, and click the three dots to the left of the title. Next to the household member you want to share the book with, click “Manage Family Library,” and they will be able to read it from their Amazon account or Kindle device/app.
