Ronald Chernow is an American writer, journalist, historian, and biographer who has written bestselling and award-winning biographies of historical figures in business, finance, and politics, winning the Pulitzer Prize for Biography and the American History Book Prize in 2011.

At his high school graduation, Ron Chernow was voted “Most Likely to Succeed,” and he graduated summa cum laude from Yale University in 1970.

Chernow published Alexander Hamilton in 2004, which received a National Book Critics Circle Award nomination and was adapted into a Tony Award-winning musical, Hamilton, which premiered on Broadway in August 2015. Chernow served as a historical consultant for the production.
