Deseret Book has been around since 1866, and the company is reinventing the traditional retail and publishing business while also pioneering new digital innovations. The Bookshelf app provides e-books with built-in hyperlinks to the included LDS scriptures. Recent releases by Elder David A. Bednar, such as “Increase in Learning” and “Act in Doctrine,” include interactive DVDs. The company’s goal is to reach its customers in meaningful ways. Time Out for Women has rotated through more than 50 cities in the United States and Canada.
Shadow Mountain is a Deseret Book publishing imprint that aims beyond the traditional LDS base, having published Walter Cronkite’s Christmas performance and David McCullough’s Christmas stories. Shadow Mountain isn’t just known for its Christmas books; it also publishes New York Times best-sellers.
