Amazon Rentals Terms & Conditions

Amazon.com Services LLC and/or its affiliates (“Amazon” or “We”) provide you with the ability to rent through Amazon.com (“Amazon Rentals”). The Rental Terms apply only to Amazon Rentals, and your use of the website is governed by our Terms of Service and Privacy Notice.

Rental Condition

You may receive a new or used item when renting through Amazon.com, but all rentals will be in acceptable rental condition, which means that the items you rent will always be professionally inspected and prepared by a qualified vendor. Products may be packaged in a generic box and will include relevant accessories.

Rental Return

During the Initial Rental Return Period, you may return an item through your Amazon.com account’s Manage Your Rentals page; if the returned item is determined to be in unacceptable rental condition by us, we may charge you the buyout price at our discretion.

Extension Fee; Automatic Purchase

You agree to return your rental item on or before the due date by renting through Amazon.com; the due date for each item you rent, as well as the option to extend or purchase your rental, can be found on the Manage Your Rentals page.

If the rented textbook you return to us is not postmarked on or before the due date, we may, at our discretion, automatically extend your rental period, charge you the textbook’s buyout price, and you will own the textbook.

Methods of Payment

You agree to keep at least one valid card in your Amazon.com account that expires no sooner than 45 days after the rental item’s due date; we reserve the right to block or cancel orders, as well as suspend or terminate your account, if you have outstanding and unpaid fees for rented items.
