C.S. Lewis
C.S. Lewis was an Oxford University lecturer and the author of The Chronicles of Narnia, which has been adapted into a number of films for both big and small screens. He is also well-known for his use of logic and philosophy to support his faith.
Early Life
Clive Staples Lewis was born on November 29, 1898, in Belfast, Ireland, and declared as a toddler that his name was Jack, which he was called by family and friends. He served in the British army during WWI and was sent home after being wounded by shrapnel.
Teaching Career at Oxford and Wartime Broadcasts
Lewis was known for his rich apologist texts, in which he explained his spiritual beliefs; he began publishing work in 1919 with Spirits in Bondage and the satirical Dymer, and in 1926 with Out of the Silent Planet, his first science fiction novel.
