Why is the NIV Bible bad?
The difficulty with the NIV is that it is a poor translation of the original. It makes extensive use of paraphrasing. In fact, I am well aware that paraphrasing is frequently required in order to express sentences in foreign languages. The literal meaning of a translation is not always understood by the audience.
