Plot summary
Dresden is confronted by Queen Mab a year after the events of White Night. Despite repeated attacks by gruffs, he tracks Marcone’s movements across the city. The Archive arranges for Dresden and Nicodemus to meet at the Shedd Aquarium. Dresden is abandoned on the island by the Denarians and their mercenaries. The Eldest Gruff reveals that he has been compelled to attack Dresden as long as he can remember.
