API 570 – Piping Inspector
Determine if you qualify to take the API 570 exam before submitting an application. Piping inspector certification is based on a combination of education and experience related to in-service metallic piping systems acquired within the last 10 years while employed by, or under contract with, an authorized inspection agency.
API 570 inspectors must apply for recertification every three (3) years, demonstrating that they spent at least 20% of their time performing or supervising in-service piping inspection activities during the previous three-year certification period. For those expiring on or after January 1, 2025, the full CPD requirements of 24 CPDs will be implemented.
