The Jane Austen Book Club is a 2007 American romantic drama film written and directed by Robin Swicord. It stars Maria Bello, Emily Blunt, Hugh Dancy, Jimmy Smits, and Lynn Redgrave, and is based on Karen Joy Fowler’s 2004 novel of the same name.
The book club was founded by Kathy Baker (Kathy Baker) and Emily Blunt (Emily Blunt), and the six members share characteristics similar to Jane Austen’s characters. They meet once a month to discuss all of the author’s six works, with each member hosting once a month. Grigg is attracted to Jocelyn and puzzled by her lack of interest in him.
